Let your home help you recover for your next workout.

Your home should be the number one location of recovery. Let us start with 3 things you can do today to start the recovery to having a great workout tomorrow.


1. Sleep ( But you know that. ) So let us focus on number 2 and 3 in this blog.


2. Home temperature and humidity levels. This is so important because with a dry or too humid of environment can affect the breathability of your air in your home . The air you breath when you sleep. Simply put high humidity increases bacteria and mold. Low humidity leads to dry sinuses, bloody noses, and asthma. The ideal humidity should be 30 to 40 percent in the winter and 40 to 60 percent in the summer.


Now you got the info. So let us start recovering. We can get a humidifier, but how do we know the actual reading in your home. Its simple, use of a humidity monitor. We need a dashboard of instruments to give us information, a humidity monitor does that very well. The monitors can be easily purchased in any hardware store for around $10 to $12. So, by adjusting your home thermostat and humidifier based on the information you are getting from your humidity monitor you will be looking at more restful sleep through improved breathing.


3. Allergens in your living space. Living in a city were the allergen level is relatively high this most definitely will affect your outdoor workouts. But today we are talking about using your home as the recovery base. Just put simply if we are experiencing trouble sleeping, nasal congestion, and a runny nose just hanging out in our home "our pad" watching Game of Thrones how are we suppose to recover for the weekend's charity 10k run?


Now you got the info. So let us start recovering. One way to address allergins in the home is the use of pure beeswax candles. Pure beeswax candles clean the air by releasing negative ions into the air. These negative ions can bind with toxins and help remove them from the air.
